Are Job Portals still relevant?

We decided to ask how relevant they are. Parvana sent out a survey out too many of our candidates. We received close on 1,400 replies of which 27% were engineers.

The Problem with Portals isn't always Portals

The overwhelming opinion was that one of the problems with Job Portals is not the portals themselves but that often recruiters fail to provide feedback to applicants.

Parvana has taken immediate action to improve. and have implemented a new feedback process and system. We have implemented, a weekly report email that sends a personalised progress email to every current candidate, along with some interesting topical information.

Job Portal Usage compared to 5 years ago

45.7% of the respondents said they used portals more than 5 years ago while only 21.4% said they used them less. Slightly more engineers (25.6%) reported a decrease in portal usage.

Web vs Mobile Portal

An Indeed survey showed that 65% of US candidates preferring their mobile devices to apply for jobs (77% for younger people).

Our survey contradicts this with 73% preferring the Web Portal. We surmise that the reason for this is that IT professionals are almost always on laptop or desktop
